• his idea of dessert
Me: I'm feeling dessert. Fro-yo?
Him: Hmm. You should make deep fried Take-5 candy bar. You batter it with pancake mix, deep fry it, and then sprinkle it with either powdered sugar OR dip it in fudge or chocolate syrup.
Me: I'm worried about you. Let's just start juicing.

• .. and the job search continues..
Almost end of October and I have yet to find me a single job. Frustrated at times, but everyone around me kept on saying "There's time for everything.."

I have no other choice but to agree, keep on going, and give it no time of the day to be frustrated.
It could be worse, you know..

• yet another failed Ied celebration, but.
Only a day before Ied, did I find out about Ied al-Adha and the mosque in Falls Church that has a 11:30am Ied prayer (thanks to Allen for such important info!).. so I was excited and all. I also made plans to visit a new friend in Kensington to celebrate Ied together. I woke up early, took a shower, even prepared my Abaya to wear after I'm done with the mechanic.

Yah, there was this annoying noise that came on as soon as I start the engine and I was scheduled to take my car to the mechanic this am. I thought I could have it done before heading out to Falls Church.. but nope. I tell ya, we can plan all we want.. but in no way we have any control over anything.

Long story short, the car won't be ready til 4pm. They loaned me a car, but it's such an old ass car that is not even safe to drive locally, let alone going all the way to Maryland. So, there I was, pouting, driving back to the house. I was bummed. I realize how much I miss dhikr or just a simple Muslim gathering. At times like this, I do miss LA and its accessible information on events like today.

Allen came to my rescue. He offered to pick me up, have dinner, and just hang out. I felt bad for having him drive all the way out here, so I suggested that we meet up as soon as I get my car back. One dinner -no alcohol, as we both promised to only drink on weeekends-, an hour walking hand in hand at the mall, an hour talking in the car, a lot of kisses in between, and a Don Jon movie later, I feel so much better.

For once, I found someone who makes me feel the way I want to feel.

• yet another blissful weekend
For someone who's unemployed, I sure am blessed enough to have weekends after weekends full of fun.. including this past weekend. It's over now, but it still brings smile to my face just thinking about it.

It all started from having breakfast at iHop with Xave and Keean (I learned, quality time is best served with food), then continued to playing mini golf and cafe hangout with them and Irish. We went to this Korean bakery in Annandale I've been wanting to try which turned out awesome. The boys loved it. What did I say earlier about quality time and good food? :D

I then met up with Allen to have dinner at our new favorite seafood restaurant "Chasin' Tails" in Arlington.. and then... to top it all off, uncle Derek who happened to be in town called me and asked to meet with him for dinner/drinks in D.C. So, off to DC we went.

Allen surprisingly was okay to come with me to meet with uncle D, I mean, considering ya know.. this is like.. my ex-uncle-in-law.. yah :D He was very respectful and could actually carry a conversation with a group of 4 retirees! Uncle D, as usual, had something sweet to say about me. "You are so precious and I love you for who you are" He even said his nephew was umm.. stupid.. for letting me go. Well, duh? Haha!

He whispered to my ears "Allen seems to be a very nice guy", in which I replied "Ehh, he's aite!" and we both burst out laughing.

Another funny thing was said when he wanted his friend to take a picture of him, Allen, and me together, he pulled out his iPhone with a Porsche logo on it and Allen asked "Ahh, you drive a Porsche too?" He paused, looked at his phone, Allen's phone and said "No... Wait.. Oh man, you drive a Porsche?! Oh wow.. no, I don't drive one, but I wish I do, so let's not rub it in!" hahaha..

Afterward, Allen and I took a walk along Adams Morgan area, people watching, laughing at everyone's fashion style, stopped at a hookah bar for a minute, then went back to the car at midnight as we needed to head back to Stafford.

Oh, that was only on Saturday, btw. :)
