• Ramadan so far
Lately, I've been thinking about Bapak much more than usual. First Ramadan without him. I remember I used to call him and ask what he had for Sahoor and Iftar. I miss him, a whole lot. How sad it would be during Ied this year without him. I mean, my family back home will feel it even more so than I am being this far. Having only one parent is definitely something we can't get used to. I can't even imagine how Ibu feels these days. That's why I feel bad on days that I'd missed calling her. Her stories are now changed from Kinanti/Ian (they're in Jakarta) to daily verses of Quran she hears from the radio every day. Fulfilling for both of us, I must say. I think we all are closer to Ibu now than ever. She's one parent we have left now and I pray for her health and well-being at the end of each and every Salah I do.

I can't say I do better this year than last, but fasting has been easy this week - Alhamdulillah. To top it off, the two bosses have been super supportive and as expected, as soon as they found out I'm fasting, they asked a lot of questions.

"How long do you have to fast?
"No water at all? I would die!"
"Can you lose weight when fasting?" (wait - what are they trying to say???)
"What time do you have to wake up for Sahoor?"
"Imagine if you live in Iceland and fast during Summer like this! You would really die"
"Will you still buy eggs and fruits for the office?"

Haha.. amusing.
